Editor Interface
Overview of the Scriptora AI editor layout, panels, and toolbar.
The Scriptora AI editor is a three-panel layout:
| Panel | Position | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Sidebar | Left | File tree, references, figures, settings |
| Editor | Center | LaTeX source editor with syntax highlighting |
| Preview / AI | Right | PDF preview or AI chat panel |
Switching layouts
Use the layout buttons in the top toolbar to switch between:
- Editor only — full-width editor, no preview
- Split (default) — editor left, preview/AI right
- Preview only — full-width PDF preview
On mobile, the layout collapses to a single panel with tab navigation.
The sidebar
The sidebar contains:
- Files — your workspace file tree; click any
.texor.bibto open it in the editor - References — search and add citations
- Figures — browse figure files in your workspace
- History — version history and branches
Toggle the sidebar with the ≡ button or press Ctrl/⌘ + B.
The toolbar
The top toolbar contains:
- Compile button — compile with the selected engine
- Engine selector — choose pdflatex / xelatex / lualatex
- Peer Review — open the review workflow
- History — save a named branch
- Settings — paper settings, watermark preferences
- Share — invite collaborators
Right panel tabs
The right panel can show:
- PDF Preview — compiled output
- AI Chat — conversation with the AI assistant
- Errors — compilation errors (shown automatically on failure)
